Further development of Towson Town Center included the expansion of an existing parking facility, as well as architectural enhancements. When planning for the development of the center as a whole, the team recognized the importance of creating a “gateway” to the destination and the role of façade and streetscape design. The garage integrates significant retail and mixed-use space, including a P.F. Chang’s and The Cheesecake Factory.
The expanded parking facility connects users to the street and retail areas by way of an attractive pedestrian walkway, featuring ornate ceilings and vivid lighting. A circular tower at the corner of the structure complements the surrounding buildings, while large etched glass signage runs along the top of the façade. This articulate and creative expansion earned the Award of Excellence for Architectural Achievement from the International Parking Institute.
